Delaware Food Stamps Income Limits 2023 : Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a food supplemental program that enables low-income families to buy a variety of food that is the basis for better nutrition. Benefits are issued electronically to the family’s Delaware Food First card each month. This is an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.
The Food Supplement Program recipient uses this card at local grocery stores to access his/her food benefit. The United States Department of Agriculture, Food & Nutrition Service (FNS), is the federal agency responsible for overseeing the Food Supplement Program. Delaware Food Stamps Income Limits 2023 Eligibility
Eligibility for Delaware’s Food Supplement Program is based on factors such as who lives and eats together, relationship in the home and household income. All children who are 21 years of age and younger and live with their parents must apply for food benefits with their parents. Applications for the Food Supplement Program must be U.S. Citizens or eligible aliens to qualify.
Individuals who receive TANF, GA or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) do not need to meet an income test to receive food benefits. The maximum gross monthly income limit for most households is set at 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Currently, there is no resource test for most households that meet the 200% FPL maximum gross monthly income limit.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW | Delaware Food Stamps Income Limits
Delaware’s Division of Social Services issued monthly Emergency Food Benefits to eligible households from March 2020 through February 2023 as part of the extra assistance provided during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Emergency Food Benefits allowed all SNAP households to receive at least $95 in extra benefits at the end of each month.
A federal law was passed that stopped Emergency Food Benefits. SNAP households received their final issuance of Emergency Food Benefits on February 28, 2023.
Starting on March 1, 2023, SNAP households will only receive their regular monthly benefit on the normal issuance date. Households will no longer get extra Emergency Food Benefits on their EBT cards at the end of each month.

Why are Emergency Food Benefits ending?
On December 29, 2022, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 was signed into law. The law ends Emergency Food Benefits after the February 2023 benefit issuance. Delaware was approved to issue additional SNAP Food Benefits due to the state and federal emergency declarations that were in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Division of Social Services cannot change the end of Emergency Food Benefits. Emergency Food Benefits will end nationwide after the February 2023 issuance.

Can I request a Fair Hearing because my Food Benefits are changing?
We cannot change the end of Emergency Food Benefits. Emergency Food Benefits will end nationwide after the February 2023 issuance. You may not appeal the end of Emergency Food Benefits and will not be given a Fair Hearing for this issue. You may ask for a Fair Hearing if you think your normal Food Benefit amount in wrong.
